FAQ

Grace Point Community Church is a new and growing community of people seeking to know God better, grow closer to Him and to each other while showing love throughout our lives.

GPCC is here for those who do not have a church home. There is relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we would like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.

Whether you are new on a spiritual quest or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a supportive community at Grace Point Community Church.

Just in case you were wondering...
Frequently Asked Questions

Why start another Church?
The good news about Grace Point Community Church is that it is "new" only it's style and location. The "Church" began 2000 years ago after Jesus rose on Easter! We are a Bible believing Church in the historic Christian faith. Grace Point is not a maverick, independent church, but is partnering with many others to begin new here in Belvidere.

Aren't there enough churches already?
There are many good Churches in the area with a variety of styles. Grace Point will provide a contemporary music style, a friendly atmosphere, and new creative ways to help the community. It is purposely designed for today's culture! As our population grows and times change, the Church is expected to meet these new needs.

Can a "Church" meet in a park district gym?
Most new churches begin their first years meeting in either a school, a theater, a banquet hall, a hotel meeting room or even a park distric recreation center!. The Belvidere Recreation Center is ideally located for the surrounding community. The "Church" consists of the loving and caring people no matter what the shape or size of a building. We are very thankful to the Belvidere Park District for permitting us to meet in their building as we begin Grace Point.

What can I expect if I visit Grace Point?
You will find a place along with others who gather together on Sundays to learn more about God. There will be contemporary music, relevant messages to encourage you in life and an accepting spirit with optimism about the future.

Why is it named "Grace Point Community Church"?
Grace is God's unmerited favor - We are unable to earn the right to go to Heaven and we believe the Bible when it says that it is "by grace you are saved through faith!" When anyone comes to the point of seeing God's grace, it will change their lives. A community of people growing in relationship with God and each other is a dynamic Church!

I have other questions, how do I find answers?
There are a variety of ways to find answers. You can email us at Gpcc.belvidere@gmail.com or you can call the church office at 815-544-0629 and you can always stay after any service and talk with Pastor Tom.
